High
Pyrenees Tour This eight-day tour takes you on five unforgettable rides around the
Haute Pyrenees region, taking in many of the famous Pyrenean cols including
the Aspin and the Tourmalet. All along the route there’s a spectacular
mountain backdrop that changes daily, making this a challenging but unforgettable
mountain bike tour. We stay in comfortable gites, so all you have to
do is enjoy the riding and the scenery.
Itinerary

a detailed itinerary Day 1: Arrive at Toulouse airport and transfer to
Bertren or Self-drive. Day2: Starting the ride at 1800 metres we descend into
the valley of the Pyresourde and
climb up and over the Col to the Valley of Loudenvielle and finish
the day with a climb
over the Col de Azet and a great descent into St Lary. Day3: With the choice of transferring or riding
to our start point at the Col de Aspin we
ride a great undulating circuit around the valley of the Payolle
and descend to the
village of St Marie de Campan Day4: With a choice of transferring or riding
to the Col de Tourmalet we start the ride
with a great descent on a single track traversing down the valley
to join a jeep tracked
climb traversing the Capet for a final great 25 hairpin descent
to the town of Bareges. Day 5: Day off in the town of Bareges with a
chance to ride by yourself or take a visit to
the Observatory and see the great panoramic views of the mountain
range at 2800m Day 6: Starting off in the lower valley of
Esparros we ride a great circuit undulating and
winding around the valley and the cols of the pretty area of
Les Baronnies. Day7: A final days Epic ride around the
Barousse and Luchon area to finish off a great
and challenging week with some of the best trails and views
in Europe. Day 8: Depart. Riding Level: Our point to point trips start off with demanding rides
from 40-60Km in mountain terrain with an average of 1200 metres of climbing
per day. Riders must have a good level of
fitness.
